FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at 4:30pm ET to find your seat for a ceremony start time of 5:00pm ET.

Question

Will the wedding be outside?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony, cocktail hour and dancing are planned to be outdoors, rain and temperature permitting. We encourage you to dress according to the forecast, but outdoor heaters, fire pits, and blankets will also be provided to keep the evening cozy.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

This will be a fun, yet elegant occasion, and we request guests wear cocktail attire. Ladies are encouraged to wear darker colored midi-length, tea length, or floor length dresses or jumpsuits/pantsuits. Men can wear dark jackets and slacks, suits, or tuxes. No jeans, shorts, or white/ivory attire please.

Question

Are transportation and parking provided?

Answer

Complimentary valet parking will be available at the venue. Please note, arrival at the venue requires navigating a steep mountain road. If you are not comfortable driving in these conditions or plan to indulge in adult beverages, please coordinate a carpool with another guest. If you need help doing so, reach out to Ethan or Jamie and we’d be happy to help you do so!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can host all guests comfortably and keep our day intimate, we are only able to accommodate the guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. We appreciate your understanding and cannot wait to celebrate with you.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

With the exception of the wedding party, this evening will be a 21+ event. While we love your children, unless they are listed on your invitation, we respectfully ask that you use our wedding as a date night and make alternative childcare arrangements for this evening. If this restricts your ability to attend, we completely understand and will greatly miss your presence!

Question

Is there a dedicated hotel block for guests?

Answer

A selection of beautiful homes has been reserved for our wedding party to rent at Bear Lake Reserve -- the premier vacation destination in western North Carolina. Bear Lake Reserve is approximately 2 miles from the wedding venue. For more details on how to reserve your rental (or for alternate accommodation options), please visit the "Travel" section of our website.

Question

How and when do I RSVP?

Answer

You can click the 'RSVP' tab above and RSVP at any time. Please RSVP as soon as you're able, but no later than October 6, 2025. Our vendors require us to provide the final head-count by this date. Any unanswered RSVPs will be counted as a "no." Thank you for your understanding!

Question

What if I RSVP'd yes but can no longer attend?

Answer

Your presence will be greatly missed, but we understand that life events can change your ability to join us. We just ask that you text or call us to let us know ASAP.

Question

What if I have food allergies and/or dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please share any food allergies or restrictions when you RSVP. We want to assure you that these are taken seriously!

Question

Will there be other events planned on the wedding weekend?

Answer

All of our guests are invited to join us for a casual welcome cocktail party on the evening before our wedding. Visit the 'Schedule' tab of our website for more information. There are also a plethora of activities for our guests to enjoy while they are in town at both Bear Lake Reserve and the surrounding areas. Visit the 'Things to Do' tab of our website for more information.

Question

What time will the evening end?

Answer

The wedding reception will conclude promptly at 10:00pm. All guests must exit the venue by this time.

Question

Can I use my cell phone at the event?

Answer

We kindly request that mobile devices be turned off/silenced and put away during our ceremony. We would love for our guests to be in the moment with us on this special day. Please note: Due to the mountain location of the venue, cell service will be very limited.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception, however, we do recommend bringing a little cash to tip our hard-working bartenders throughout the evening.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

You can find our complete wedding registry here on our website (and purchase directly from our wish list) under the "Registry" tab. A card box will be available at our reception.
