FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Since we will be going to Scotland, we ask that you RSVP by March 1, 2024 at the latest.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence is the best present we can ask for! Please do not feel obligated to purchase any wedding gifts for us, as we know international travel can get pricey. If you are feeling extra generous, we do have a registry.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We ask that only invited quests or designated plus ones attend due to limited capacity at the venue.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Each event will have different dress codes listed when you RSVP. For the ceremony and reception, the attire is formal/black tie optional. Long dresses or gowns for ladies, and a tux or suit and tie for men. The overall vibe will be “secret garden” meets “royal family wedding.” Don't be afraid to be creative and dress up! (There's no way you can outshine the bride!) Ladies, please check out our Pinterest board at https://pin.it/7eRjYBF for some inspiration! Gentlemen, you can rent suits in Scotland from Slaters, or choose to rent a kilt if you wish! There are also many U.S. suit rental companies that offer extended time rentals. (PS: If you wear white for any events, don’t be surprised if someone “accidentally” spills red wine on your dress.)

Question

Is there anything required to travel to Scotland?

Answer

You will need a passport, but no visa is required. All COVID-19 requirements have been lifted.

Question

I don't know my travel plans yet!

Answer

If you know you are coming, but have not arranged travel quite yet, that's okay! You can always go back and edit your RSVP to include travel plans.

Question

How do I get to the Castle from the airport?

Answer

We will have a bus to take everyone from Edinburgh to the Castle on Monday, May 27th, so make sure to RSVP so we can make sure you have a seat on the bus! Due to construction at the train station, please meet at the Apex Hotel Waterloo Place at 1 pm (right across the street from Edinburgh Waverley Station). The bus leaves promptly at 1:30 pm.

Question

Do we have to stay at the castle?

Answer

You can stay in town (a 15-minute drive) if you wish. However, we will be having events the night before and the morning of, so we suggest you stay with us at the castle so you don’t miss out on anything (or have to worry about transportation)!

Question

Can we stay at the castle longer than the wedding dates?

Answer

The castle does host multiple events a week, so we are only able to stay for the two nights reserved.

Question

Will there be any events outside of the wedding dates?

Answer

The only events planned are during the wedding dates, as we will be on our honeymoon immediately following the wedding! However, there will be some people traveling early or staying afterwards to have a Scottish vacation. (We used ChatGPT to plan our honeymoon, so might be a handy tool to use to plan your vacation before/after the wedding!)

Question

I have more questions! Who can I contact?

Answer

If you have any questions that were not listed here, please contact Chloe Earnest at (727) 597-9012.
