In a classic modern day love story, we met on Hinge. We immediately bonded over our love of sports, interest in travel, being weather nerds, and working at PR agencies. For our first date, we played mini golf, walked through Lincoln Park and drank rosé at the Hotel Lincoln rooftop bar, J Parker. We'll never know who won mini golf, however we both knew we found our person. As lifelong Cubs and Indians fans, we are thankful we met after the 2016 World Series.
Collin knew surprising Jamie would be difficult, but he had the perfect plan. Knowing few things are set in stone as the day begins, he suggested Jamie go to make the morning coffee. What Jamie didn't know was that Collin had the engagement ring with him and left a post-it note with the coffee. Much to Jamie's surprise as she opened the drawer, the post-it note read: "will you marry me?" As she turned around, Collin was there on one knee. After a special day just the two of us, Collin was able to have our families and friends surprise Jamie at our favorite bar.
While we were disappointed to have to put our planning on pause, we were fortunate to spend several months living in Highland Park, which makes this a meaningful place for us to be getting married. We moved into a bigger apartment in the city and explored our neighborhood through our walks. While we watched a lot of Netflix like everyone else, we also found a new appreciation for nature and our surroundings. Through all the meals we tried and cooked, we're most proud of our breakfast sandwich. We'd be happy to tell you all about it.
