We met on match.com and had our first date at Bonefish Grill on December 5th, 2014. We had a great time getting to know each other and spent most of the date laughing. We realized although our interests were quite different, our values were very similar and our personalities were a great fit. Jamie was unsure by the end of the date if Buck currently had a job or not (spoiler: he didn't), but he must have done something right because we planned to get together again soon. On the next date, Buck explained that he had been "funemployed" for a few months after moving to Tampa for a job that ended up not being the right fit and was currently job hunting. After a couple more great dates, Buck went home to Texas for several weeks over the holidays. During that time, we texted and spoke on the phone regularly. When Buck returned home, we knew we had something special. However, Buck's job search was not limited to the Tampa Bay/St. Pete area. When he moved to Tampa, it was only for his previous job and he didn't have any other ties keeping him here. Due to this fact, Jamie was hesitant to get too attached for fear he would end up moving away. But she was certain that if things were meant to be, it would all work out. Come February, Buck landed a job in St. Pete and the rest is history! He only recently admitted that meeting Jamie was what convinced him to stay here and find a job locally, but she always had a suspicion that was the case!
In May 2015, we took our first vacation together on a cruise to Mexico. Since then, we have traveled to Iceland, Ireland, Mexico again, all over Florida, multiple cities in Texas and New York, and Rhode Island. In February 2016, we moved in together and a couple months later we adopted our cat, Cloudy, affectionately known as "Dat Bad Boy", "Bad Kitty", or simply "Kitty". Later that year, on December 1st, 2016 we purchased our first home! Ongoing renovations have taken place since then. We are happy to be settled in and love entertaining our friends and family. Fast forward to July 4th, 2018 and Buck proposed on Redington Beach! Neither of us remember much about the proposal because Buck was so nervous and Jamie blanked out as soon as she realized what was happening. Basically, Buck said a bunch of nice stuff, got down on one knee, Jamie said yes and we were both laughing and crying at the same time! We recently celebrated 4 years together!
