FAQs

Question

Where do I fly into?

Answer

Fly into Augusto C. Sandino International Airport (MGA) in Managua, Nicaragua. It's the closest major airport to Granada and is about a 1 to 1.5 hour drive away. We’ll help connect you with trusted drivers, group shuttles, or rental car info.

Question

How do I get from the airport to Granada or San Juan?

Answer

We’re working on a transportation guide and will recommend trusted drivers for airport pickups, plus options for shared rides if your flight times align with other guests. If you’re staying in San Juan before or after, we’ll help you figure out how to get between locations. Just send us your arrival info when you can.

Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

The wedding festivities will be in Granada, Nicaragua from Thursday through Sunday, with the main celebration on Saturday, November 8. We’ll also be spending time in San Juan del Sur before and after if you want to make a full trip of it.

Question

Should I come early or stay longer?

Answer

Absolutely. We’ll be hanging out in San Juan del Sur on the Pacific Coast before and after the wedding weekend. It’s the perfect spot for beach days, boat trips, sunset cocktails, and some very fun hangouts. We’ll share details and optional activities, but it’s very come-as-you-are.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The theme is tropical disco — bold colors, breezy fabrics, and festive energy. Think cocktail attire meets vacation mode, with a touch of sparkle or flair if you're into it. We'll provide more details by event soon, but bring clothes you can dance and sweat in.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

November is the start of the dry season in Nicaragua, but you can still expect the occasional quick tropical shower, nothing that usually lasts long. Most days are hot and sunny, with highs in the 80s°F (27–30°C) and HUMID. Nights are a little cooler but still warm. Pack light layers, breathable clothes, and maybe a cute rain jacket just in case.

Question

What currency should I bring?

Answer

U.S. dollars are widely accepted and easy to use in most places. You can also withdraw local currency (córdobas) from ATMs, which are available in both Granada and San Juan del Sur. No need to exchange money before arriving.

Question

Is it safe?

Answer

We feel very at home in Nicaragua — we’ve lived here, worked here, and know the area well. Like anywhere, it’s best to travel smart: stick to well-lit areas, keep valuables secure, and don’t flash cash. We’re happy to answer specific safety questions, and we’ll point you toward trusted drivers and local contacts.

Question

Do I need any vaccines or health documents?

Answer

No special vaccinations or health documents are required to enter Nicaragua from the U.S., U.K., or most countries. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your travel dates.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

The earlier the better! Our official RSVP deadline is October 8th, but letting us know sooner helps us coordinate transportation, meals, and logistics — and make sure your mojito is waiting when you arrive.
