I was working at Madison's Trust with my coworker/ friend Ann. Ann mentioned that she had a neighbor that she wanted to set me up with if we were ever both single at the same time. Eventually, I showed up at a small get together to watch the football games and Ben was there.... and the rest is history... Apparently our friends really know us well, and though it may have taken us a bit to realize that we should officially be together, we decided our friends we right.

Ben and I took a vacation to Charleston, South Carolina. We had planned to go skydiving on June 14, and that was where he had planned to pop the question, but Mother Nature did not have skydiving in our plans and it got cancelled due to rain, so Ben had to improvise. Unfortunately for Ben, plan A didn't work and nor did plan B. Plan B was to take a golf cart ride and go look at a beautiful tree with birds on the course, but when Ben asked me if I wanted to go for a golf cart ride, I said "nah, not right now." So then came plan C. After dinner on June 13, Ben asked me to go for a walk on the beach., to which I actually agreed upon. While we were walking on the beach, he said "hey look over there at the porpoises attacking that shark!" Me, being as gullible as I am, looked for about 5 minutes. When I turned around to ask "where" he was on his knee asking for my hand in marriage.

Once the pandemic hit, Ben and I decided why wait. We were not sure how long it would last and we knew we wanted to be married and start our family, so Ben and I chose to do a small Justice of Peace ceremony in the summer of 2020. That allowed us to push our large ceremony and reception back so we could celebrate with friends and family, which leads us to July 25, where we are excited to tie the knot again in a religious ceremony with all of you there to help us celebrate.

Ben and I gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Palmer Rose Hogan on March 29, 2021. We are thrilled to be able to have her share in our journey and introduce her to everyone at our wedding.
