Wedding Party

Meet our cast of characters!

Jenny Hudalla

Maid of Honor

Jenny is Jamie's older sister, so naturally it took her a long time to tolerate Jamie. But when Jenny went to college, Jamie decided she was an icon & has made Jenny her hero ever since—even when Jenny gets feverish about Harry Potter & Hamilton. Together, they dream of taking sister-trips to National Parks & perfecting the ultimate taco recipe. If you see her, convince Jenny to get matching tattoos with Jamie.

Eustace Conorquie

Best Man

Eustace "Polbo" Conorquie and Barney have been besties since they were running around in diapers. They grew up next-door neighbors and enjoyed playing fútbol together. Eustace and Barney passed endless nights sitting on the porch talking about nothing and everything, and worked on Eustace's dad's farm together. Eustace dances a great punta and works as an accountant for the Belize government now.

Elina Katrin

Bridesmaid

Elina and Jamie met in 2020 when they both moved to Virginia's Blue Ridge to earn their MFAs. Total strangers, they rented rooms in the same house and ended up falling in love. They enjoyed breakfast on their porch with chickens and stray cats, and spent weekends dancing, karaoking, and watching New Girl. Elina now lives in LA and does cool poets things, so she and Jamie are long-distance besties.

Gary Hall

Groomsman

Gary "Gring" Hall is Barney's younger brother who's great at grilling, drawing, and getting Barney into trouble. Gary and Barney have always looked after one another during the hard times, and enjoy taking long motorcycle trips during the good times. Gary now lives in Canada and works in construction. If you see Gary, ask him his best pick-up line.

Katie Johnson

Bridesmaid

Katie and Jamie first bonded over their love of stories on a study abroad trip to England in 2017. Upon returning, they started a writers' group, graduated college, and moved into a little yellow house with lots of mice. During the pandemic, they built forts and made campy reenactments of movie scenes. They continue to be platonic life partners in Minnesota, where Katie therapizes people (and Jamie for free).

Anthony Gongora

Groomsman

Anthony "Punsy" Gongora and Barney met fishing at the river and haven't looked back since. Anthony may not be blood, but he's become a brother as he's kept Barney alive through all his heartbreaks and scary animal encounters on hikes. You can catch Anthony vaccinating chickens at his day job. He's also a top cake chef and wins the award for best laugh, so make sure to tell him some jokes.

G.H. Plaag

Bridesmaid

G.H. and Jamie became pals when they trauma-bonded in the same MFA fiction tutorial. Their friendship grew when they became teaching fellows who shared an office and decorated it with haunted birds. And when they made each other laugh at inappropriate times during Zoom classes. G.H. now writes novels in New Orleans, but reunites with Jamie to cause mischief and philosophical debates about sandwiches.

Charles Hall

Groomsman

Charles "Chilo" Hall is Barney's older brother, but if you squint from a distance they could be twins. They bond over watching fútbol games, but might kill each other over rooting for rival teams. Charles enjoys a good stout and loves his daughter, Tiana, more than anything in the world. Charles is a whiz at masonry and has left the Belize heat to work in Canada.

Buck O'Flanagan

Bridesman

Buck met Jamie when she was an awkward preteen after he started dating Jamie's older sister. Over the years, they've discovered their shared love of bulldogs, bold fashion statements, and making fun of Jenny. On their drives up to the cabin, Buck always DJs early 2000s pop punk and lets Jamie be passenger princess. You can catch him playing DnD and making cures for cancers in a white lab coat.

Daniel Hall

Groomsman

Daniel "Billy" Hall is Barney's oldest brother, and as such, is the most responsible of the bunch. Daniel is an excellent family man and can take down a steak like no other. He's a diehard fan of car shows and if you have questions about roofing, Daniel's your guy. Make sure to ask him about his pet parrots.
