It's Happening!

Anthony popped the question on our first international trip together, which was planned around a visit to our dear friends in Prague. In hindsight, I should've seen it coming, but at the time I was busy taking in the sights (read: exclaiming to Anthony how there's "no way" things are as old as the historic markers say, while he repeatedly assures me that yes, Europe is very, very old. Poor thing.) Anthony traveled through several countries with the ring, waiting for the right moment to do the deed. Several times, he suggested that we walk down particularly beautiful paths, which I would ultimately reject for their indirectness or lack of snack potential. Unbeknownst to me, like something straight out of a bad Rom-Com, I was ruining his plans for a proposal with the perfect backdrop. Seriously - the list included a hillside vineyard, ancient brewery, scenic castle, and world-class garden, just to name a few. During our trip to Berlin, I was confused as to why he seemed to be rushing through the horribly depressing World War II exhibits I was checking out. After a few hours of wandering, we visited the Brandenburg Gate, grabbed a few beers, and strolled over to the famous Tiergarden park. Having been on our feet for days on end, I was thrilled to plop down by a pond in a dreamy garden (pictured at the bottom of this page)! My patience began to wear thin as Anthony was being uncharacteristically picky over our picnic spot. How I still didn't catch on is a complete mystery to me! Once we FINALLY settled in, he asked me to stand up. It's at this point that I finally realized what was going on, and was so excited that I don't remember what either of us actually said. What a great end to what was already the best trip of my life! We couldn't be more excited to celebrate our marriage with our favorite people!
