Flight
Getting To Barbados
You'll fly into Grantley Adams International Airport. Traveling from California: Airlines that service from LAX or SFO are American, United, Delta, and JetBlue. You can expect a connection in New York, Newark, or Miami. Traveling from New York: You will be able to fly direct on JetBlue. Traveling from London: You will be able to fly direct on Virgin or British Airways. Traveling from Toronto: You will be able to fly direct on Air Canada or WestJet.

Public Bus
Bus driving on any island is an experience to remember, and Barbados is no exception. It's certainly the most affordable and entertaining option. The fare is BDS $3.50 (or $1.75 USD, but no foreign coins are accepted). The buses can take you all over the island. Cash only.

There are tons of taxi companies on the island. If/when you take a taxi, feel free to ask your driver for their business card to contact them for future rides. The most common way to request a car is via WhatsApp. Cash only. Here are a few options... If you'd like to rent a car, then Stoutes is a great option based on our past experience. You can pick up from the airport or arrange for the vehicle to be dropped off at your accommodation. If you are a rewards member, then Hertz, Enterprise, and AVIS are also available.
Travel Note
Zika or Dengue
Barbados has a history of Zika Virus transmission. That said, there is currently no evidence of an ongoing Zika Virus outbreak. Additionally, Dengue is a risk in many parts of Central and South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Please seek advice from your doctors and carefully consider the risks associated with travel to Barbados ahead of time.
