For the longest time, Jami always expressed interest in going on an airboat ride. I sure am glad we did. WOW! What an experience! Captains Geoff and Brittany Woodliff are married and make an amazing team. They are extremely knowledgeable about our river system, delta, and Mobile Bay. This is WELL worth a "three hour tour." Do you know of any other place that salutes the sunset? Sunset Pointe at Fly Creek Marina in Fairhope is the place to watch the handiwork of God over the western sky above Mobile Bay. It's truly breathtaking -- and the food isn't bad either. This is a great place to relax on the Eastern Shore after visiting in the Fairhope area.
The USS ALABAMA is Alabama's #1 tourist attraction. It's a great place to watch the Fourth of July fireworks, take family and friends from out of town, and to learn about our nation's rich history during World War II. Michael and one of his groomsmen Will, created the official Battleship Memorial Park app available in the Apple App Store and Google Play in just three short but long weeks in 2013. Currently, the team is working on implementing the new audio tour into the app. Also, Michael was an extra and is credited with a speaking role in "USS INDIANAPOLIS: Men of Courage" starring Nicolas Cage which was filmed onboard in 2015. "The Mighty A" doubled as the INDIANAPOLIS. "Under Siege" starring Stephen Segal and Tommy Lee Jones was also filmed here in 1992.
Just a short hour drive away from Mobile is the cradle of Naval aviation: Pensacola, Florida. Explore this amazing museum filled with airplanes, helicopters, and rich history of our country. Growing up, Michael visited during summers with family and friends. By the way, did we mention this was home of the Blue Angels? You're going to want to see this.
