Jami and Luke met in the second grade when Luke's family moved to Hallettsville. Jami immediately had a school-girl crush but they remained only friends until high school. In their freshmen English class the teacher gave assigned seating, and Jami and Luke happen to be put next to each other. They quickly came to the conclusion that they liked this arrangement and started sitting by each other in other classes so they could continue talking. Sophomore year they started dating, and they have been inseparable ever since.

Jami and Luke always enjoyed hiking and decided to take a trip to Big Bend National Park before the start of the Fall 2020 school year. Little did Jami know, Luke had a secret plan to give her a big rock while hiking this big rock.
