Our story began 8 years ago at a summer science program at Tougaloo College. We were two young teenagers with big dreams of pursuing careers in STEM, never imagining that one day our friendship would become something so much more. After one competitive game of cards, conversation came naturally—and before we knew it, years of friendship had passed. Four years later, what started as a simple thought of “I haven’t seen my friend in a while, I should visit” slowly turned into “I think I really want to date this guy.” In October 2021, we took a leap of faith and began dating long distance. Our not-so-secret weapon has always been God. Through every season—both individually and together—He has guided us through challenges, celebrated victories with us, and strengthened our relationship in ways we never expected. Over the past four years of dating, we’ve experienced tremendous growth spiritually, academically, emotionally, and in countless other ways that have strengthened both our relationship and ourselves. Now, we are excited to begin this new season together as husband and wife—continuing to learn, grow, and build a life rooted in faith, love, and purpose.
