It's hard to believe we lived 15 minutes away from each other in Columbia, SC during middle and high school and both attended Clemson for years before we finally met. Even after meeting at Clemson in 2011, it was not love at first sight. It wasn't until years later we "re-met," as we like to say, in Beaufort, SC in 2016. We had not seen one another in 5 years, but instantly remembered each other. We had breakfast together before I (Jennifer) returned to Raleigh and Will returned to Charlotte. After that, we were inseparable, and visited each other every chance we could. About 6 months into our relationship, Will was offered a job opportunity with his company in Greenville. A few months after that, I got a job offer in Greenville. After nearly a year of long distance, we were both in the same city and have been together ever since. We often reflect on our initial meeting at Clemson in July 2011. The meeting spot is a special place for me, where my grandfather's name is on the Class of 1943 Carillon Garden wall. Who would have known after that brief meeting we would one day be husband and wife?! We are grateful for our journey and God's timing in our relationship. Had we met and dated in high school or college, it may not have lasted. We experienced tremendous personal growth during college and our early 20s. We lived in different states, away from home, family and friends, and simply put, figured out who we wanted to be. We've grown together as a couple the last 5 years together, and are excited for many years ahead. We are forever grateful we "re-met" when we did. We are best friends, teammates, partners and thrilled to be husband and wife!
