Finally Saying I Do!

The first time we laid eyes on each other was in our hometown in Appomattox, Va. Our town has a Railroad Festival every year. This particular year, we crossed paths at the festival where I ran into Raymond and his brother. I knew his brother from school but I had never met Raymond. I happened to talk with his brother that day, just normal conversation while Raymond stood quietly. Gave his brother a hug goodbye and as I went to leave, Raymond asked me for a hug as well. I kinda rolled my eyes and gave him a friendly hug and went my way. That was the day Raymond told his brother, “I’m gonna get her!” Lol. Later down the road we crossed paths again. We both ended up working at our local Walmart. Raymond worked in the frozen and diary department and I worked on the front end as a cashier. It started off with small conversation to having lunch together, to us spending a lot of time together. Raymond would buy me lunch, flowers, and lots of candy! Lol After playing hard to get for a while we FINALLY started our relationship. ❤️

The week of Valentines Day. Everyday up until the day of Valentines Day, Raymond came home with something. One day it was a teddy bear, the next day it was flowers, and the next day it was chocolate. So of course I’m expecting something big! I received a card. Raymond poured his whole heart out into this card. Most beautiful I’ve ever gotten. However, that was the only thing he got me on Valentines Day, of course I expecting more than just the card I received but that was it. I was not upset nor disappointed, the card was beautiful. Just thought something big. Lol That following Friday I had to work all night long. (Still at Walmart) So we didn’t get the chance to go out or anything. I was the supervisor on the frontend so I was always running around the store going crazy. An associate called me over the intercom saying that I was needed to assist a customer back in the Electronics department. As I made my way back to the department, I turn the corner to see all of me and Raymond’s friends and family. I asked everybody “What’s going on?” As approaching everyone, I turned to my left and there he was down on one knee. I was in shock! My very first words were “Shut Up!” Lol I cried like a baby. Finally after tears and getting myself together I said YES!
