The couple met in a night club, of all places. But it wasn't during a night of drinks and dancing. It was at a monthly gathering of smarties who love learning new things: Nerd Nite! Lauren attended with her friend Leah and noticed Jordan from across the room. Luckily, Jordan and his friend Cody stopped by their booth to watch the presentations. After sharing some snacks from the bar, Lauren and Leah talked to them about their backgrounds (Jordan had just moved from LA to do his postdoc work at the University of Michigan), as well as Jordan's upcoming birthday the next week and Michigan's dreadful winter. It didn't take long after that special night for Lauren to reach out to Jordan via text and before she knew it, they had their first date. Lauren was smitten. Fast forward a few weeks later— Lauren went on a long vacation with her family to Paris. During the trip, Lauren and Jordan both realized thousands of miles apart that they wanted to make their relationship official. When she came back home, the two were inseparable. And through countless dinners downtown, long days at the motocross track, fun nights out with friends, walks with Jordan's beloved dog Dakota, plus trips to New York City, Minnesota and Europe in the fall, Lauren and Jordan fell in love and couldn't wait to share the rest of their lives together. Jordan proposed to Lauren on New Year's Eve 2019 at The Earle in downtown Ann Arbor over a bottle of wine they brought home from Tuscany-- a bottle they said they would open on New Year's Eve. And their love created something even more special: they are both new parents to Baby Lucy who was born in August 2020. They can't wait to celebrate their love and new addition with everyone in 2021!
