Hotel
Hi all! We are working with Zola to offer a discounted hotel rate for our guests at multiple hotels. This allows you to customize your stay- whether you want to stay in Manhattan, stay closer to the venue in Queens and discover LIC (a really cool neighborhood), and stay however long you want if you feel you want to extend your trip. General rule of thumb- Manhattan will be way more expensive than anywhere else, and it's a short subway ride into Manhattan from Long Island City. Check out the hotels and what they offer and choose whichever one suits your needs.
Travel Note
There is NO AIRBNB in NYC! VRBO has some options but they are usually attached to hotels. If you see an apartment on Airbnb, it's probably illegal/sketchy.
Travel Note
You do not need to rent a car in NYC if you are flying in. Trust me, it will be way more of a hassle. Having a car here in general is a huge pain with garage prices and congestion pricing/tolls. This is a subway/citibike/walkable city. Don't drive. If you are planning on driving in to a hotel, make sure you confirm garage prices with the hotel before booking so you aren't hit with a crazy fee out of nowhere. IF YOU ARE DRIVING!! Take whatever time the drive says it will be and add at least an extra hour. Many of us have learned this the hard way.
Flight
NYC has 3 airports, but Laguardia is definitely the best option for our wedding location. Newark may be cheaper but expect a very pricey cab ride into the city, especially if you're going past Manhattan into Brooklyn or Queens. JFK will probably have the most direct flights. (Sorry- I love to over-explain!)
Train
The Amtrak is a great option for those traveling from DC or Boston who don't want to drive! Just book your tickets in advance, as prices go up as the day comes closer.
