One day in mid April 2019, Tina was sitting in the main office of SAFV (Sitkans Against Family Violence), writing notes, as she wrapped up her workday. SAFV was in the middle of moving for their renovation, so there several staff buzzing about in a whirlwind of organized chaos. On this same day, James was also at work. At this time he was nannying for his Sitka 'Sister' and her infant child, Colton. It was a beautiful, sunny day in Sitka, so James and Colton decided to go for a walk and surprise Coltons Mamma while she was at work, at SAFV. As James and baby Colton approached the front door of SAFV and rang the doorbell, Tina was about to head back to her office to leave for the day. James' 'Sister' (and Tina's Coworker) exclaimed, "My Baby!" Unable to resist baby time, Tina waited. She was then caught in a trance, as she watched this big, gentle, blue-eyed, bearded man scoop up this most precious, round cheeked little buba. Tina broke her trance by asking if she could hold baby Colton, James looked at Mom for approval, then slowly walked to Tina, looking her in the eyes, smiling and placing baby Colton in her arms. James and Tina then went on their first date a few days later, babysitting James' two nephews: Malachi and baby Colton. It has been a journey full of laughter, unending growth, and boundless love.
