"It was a cold winter day away from family I was in the USA. New place, a new beginning. Someone accepted my friend request in a dating app. That’s the beginning of a relationship that never looked back. Our first date turned to hanging out every weekend, and we fell in love without even knowing." - Shib "I love to tell the story of how I met Shib. We matched on tinder, and I had no idea that the guy I was going to meet in a hookah lounge on Ludlow Avenue would be my fiance. Our first date was a quirky misadventure that makes me laugh looking back at it. We met at a hookah lounge Shib suggested. Neither of us smokes. A plus in the long run for me, but confusing at the moment given the venue choice. When we settled on ordering tea our server informed us the comfy couches we were sitting at were for more lucrative hookah partaking patrons and we were shuffled to a smaller corner table. Initial bumps aside, I quickly realized how much I was enjoying talking to the guy sitting across from me. He was funny and down to earth. We talked about travel and hobbies and the night passed quickly. Afterward, we walked around Ludlow avenue, the first of many such walks through Clifton. In the end, he was a gentleman and walked me to my car. As we were about to part I thought we'd round out our overall pretty cute date with a kiss. He extended his hand for a handshake and crestfallen I shook it before getting in my car. "I must have really blown it!" I remember thinking. Reaching home still thinking about what might have gone wrong my phone lit up "I really enjoyed tonight. I'd love to see you again" read the notification. Many cute dates followed. The rest, as they say, was history." - James
"I never knew that we would be inseparable with time. I met his parents and he traveled 13000km to meet my folks. Everything was going well and then suddenly it happened. Come 22nd December 2019, and he proposed me for marriage. I was stunned and amazed, a wave of emotions hit me like a refreshing gush of cold spring air. I said yes to the love of my life James. This is the short start of our love story." - Shib "I remember the moment clearly when I knew Shib was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. It was a rainy night in October. We were together in India, it was my first time and I had come to meet his parents. His family was warm and welcoming. His friends welcomed me with open arms. It had been an active trip and we were heading back to our hotel in a taxi. He had asked the driver to stop at an ATM, we needed some more Rupees to pay our fair. Shielding us from the rain with our borrowed umbrella I noticed we had withdrawn a little over double what our cab fair was. Curious I asked if we needed money for something else. "Oh, the extra is for the taxi driver. Diwali is soon and I thought we'd give him a larger tip as a gift. It would be a nice surprise." I remember him telling me. It was that little gesture to a stranger at the end of our first trip together that sent the thought "I want to marry this man" racing through my brain. It didn't take long once we returned to start planning the proposal. Initially, it was going to be on our two year anniversary in March of 2020. "March still? I don't think you'll make it till Christmas... I've seen that face before." I remember Jan saying to me from across the counter at Motch Jewelers as I picked up his ring. My eagerness must have been written on my face. She was right though. I made it till December 22nd. I proposed in our favorite wing of the Cincinnati Art Museum. He said "Yes" and we started our new chapter together. We're excited to have you join us for this joyous occasion." - James
