FAQs

Question

What does preparation for weather and terrain mean?

Answer

There will be gravel and lawn, so appropriate shoes would be advisable. Scotland's weather is also mercurial in that it can be sunny, then have a rain shower, to give way to blustery winds, to once again have sun. Thankfully, at the time of year the wedding is being held, it is generally 16C/60F.

Question

Are there meal alternatives?

Answer

We are working with our Chef to ensure that dietaries and allergies are accounted for.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

There is no parking at the venue, please be sure to arrange travel, utilise public transport and buddy up where possible. (Details for cabs and public transport on the Travel page.)

Question

Who is the groom and who is the bride?

Answer

We are both grooms. For ease, Pete's party is referred to as the Power Rangers and James' is referred to as the Spice Girls.

Question

I thought you were getting married in Germany?

Answer

We thought so too! Whilst the story of how we found our first venue, and the desire to have a Bavarian wedding, are strong ones, the wake of the pandemic has required us to be flexible. We are delighted to be able to have our wedding, and to make new memories, at the family home in Scotland.

Question

How to do you pronounce the name of the town the wedding is in?

Answer

"Taow-werd", not like the directional "toward".
