It all started with a swipe to the right... He thought she looked cute and she thought he may have a great sense of humor. With their shared love for sports, James decided to ask Nicole to join him at a basketball game. Nicole was super excited and knew from the minute she met him that they’d share something special. From that day four years ago until now, they’ve never stopped laughing together. Their journey has been a fun ride with the usual challenges of life. Early on, the two of them knew they wanted a shot at the long haul and decided to move in together. Nicole was a little OCD about cleanliness and organization where James didn’t seem to sweat the small stuff. They learned over time to meet in the middle and balance each other out. They began enjoying the comfort of cooking together and sharing all of everdays happenings with one another. In 2016, they decided to expand their family by adopting their two fur babies, Oliver and Comanche. They both agree that those pups were among the best decisions they’ve ever made. Having two Great Danes in an apartment proved to be challenging so they took the next leap of moving to the suburbs. James was concerned that socialite Nicole would struggle leaving downtown but she quickly adapted to their new life together. Creating a home together has been an amazing journey. Between traveling and exploring new places together, loving their puppies, their constant sarcasm and joking with each other, sharing time with their families, and enjoying the boat on lake days, they’ve realized they’re meant to be. On July 13, 2019, James and Nicole went to see the new version of Aladdin. When they arrived home, James asked Nicole to watch the sunset with him. It ended with James on one knee asking Nicole to continue building their lives together. The pups were happy and gave them both kisses as Nicole, of course, said “YES”.
