She said yes!!

Without a doubt in my mind that I had found my “ment to be” I asked Nicole’s father and son for their blessing. With their blessing I had to figure out how to make this proposal as special as Nicole is to me. After weeks of practically becoming a gemologist so I could pick the perfect ring I made my choice. My birthday was approaching and people (mostly her) kept asking what I wanted for my birthday present of course the one thing I wanted I couldn’t tell her. Then it hit me. I told her I wanted to go on a hike to see a waterfall in Virginia, so we spent the next couple weeks picking the right waterfall (she had no idea why i was being so picky) but I finally found the perfect one. I’m so bad at keeping secrets I was dropping tons of hints like singing “I’ll name the dogs” and saying the waterfall had to be in Virginia because “Virginia is for lovers” none of which gave her the slightest clue of what she was helping me plan!! My birthday came and as we were preparing to leave when I realized how am I going to hide this square bulge (that only looked like one thing) in my pocket the entire way there. I somehow managed to keep her on one side of me. Approaching “the spot” some others were taking pictures and being super nervous I just wanted them out of my way so I offered to take their pictures to hurry them along, to my luck they offered to take our pictures in return. I thought to myself this is perfect and let her face away from me and pose while I struggled to get the ring out of my pocket and get in position, the family taking the picture started cheering (they were just as surprised as she was about to be) Nicole had no idea why they were cheering and was laughing at them. After the longest few moments of my life she looked back to see what I was doing and there I was on one knee so nervous I forgot to ask her to marry me (come on…the pose and ring asks the question right? lol) she was literally almost taken off her feet and stumbled to gain her composure among the rocks in pure shock. Nicole then told me “babe you have to ask” lol so I managed to get my words together and said “will you marry me” and just like that my birthday wish came true!!
