We're Getting Married!

August 29, 2016 We met at our Co-op's orientation before the first day of school, although we did not become friends until about 2 years later. Once becoming friends and getting to know each other, Megan could not help but start to fall for James. Megan did not catch James's eye, however, until they went to prom together in April of 2019 as "friends". After prom, the feelings were undeniable. James and Megan became very close friends, seeing each other most days until...

December 3, 2019 James asked Megan out after spending the evening at Megan's house, along with a friend, to decorate Megan's house for Christmas! Megan had asked James a couple weeks earlier what he meant to her, and in typical James fashion, he replied with "oh I just love you like a sister, its nothing." I guess James finally built up the courage to admit what it truly was ;)

January 8, 2020 Megan and James were relaxing, having a cozy night at Megan's parent's house. Megan thought she heard James whisper "I love you". Megan, not fully grasping the gravity of the situation, quickly whispers back, "I love you too." After no climactic, romantic moment, Megan realized she must have misheard James. She asked James what he said, to which he replied something along the lines of, "I love holding your hand, what did you think I said?" Megan did her best to distract from what just happened, but needless to say, she was horrified. At the very end of the night, when saying goodnight after what felt like the longest night of Megan's life, James actually told Megan he loved her.

We can't possibly share everything that happened in the following years, but we can re-cap some of the favorites: * 1 year anniversary spent at a fancy dinner, before making their favorite blanket (at a size that James fits under ;) * Numerous family vacations * 2 year anniversary spent having the best time at a diner, after finding out the fancy restaurant was closed that day * While at college, James picked Megan up at around 2am at college after finding she could not spend the night in her dorm. James brought her home around 4am, only to drive her the hour back in the morning in time for class. Her knight in shining armor! * April 18, 2021 James confessed he wanted to marry Megan someday * October 2023 James and Megan became core members of their church plant, leading to furthering their relationship individually and as a couple with God

May 16, 2024 James and Megan had planned to go on a walk after church. After an entire church service, which felt like forever to nervous James, James and Megan started on their walk to front street in Harrisburg. While walking along front street, James asked Megan if she wanted to walk down by the river. Megan, starting to clue in, told James no, testing him to see what his intentions really were :) James, frustrated, told Megan he was going to walk down by the water. After moving closer to the river, standing in front of the sunken garden, James popped the question. The moment was perfect, despite the man on his daily jog, running nonchalantly directly passed them as James poured his heart out and Megan sobbed ;)
