We're Getting Married!

Mckynze’s and I's original plan was to get married in the summer of 2025, but life is short so we decided why wait. And so we moved up the date. Making this decision automatically brought up in my head how and when I would propose. Mckynze and I had discussed getting married and proposals so much that I knew exactly what she would love, from the ring to the details of the proposal. As soon as we decided to move up the date I began the search for the perfect ring. I bought the ring and received it in early October and on the 23rd of that month, while Mckynze was in school, I went to see her parents and sister to officially get permission to marry Mckynze. They couldn’t have been more happy and excited and said yes. From there her family, my family, and I found the perfect spot and set the date. November 11, 2023, was one of the biggest and most amazing days of Mckynze’s and I’s lives going forward. The day finally arrived, and everything was planned out to a T. Mckaela took Mckynze out to a brunch giving me enough time to finalize all the decorations and make sure everything was perfect. At about 3:30 in the afternoon, I met Mckynze and Mckaela in old Mesilla to “take pictures” which was the perfect cover to dress up nice and go to the spot I wanted to propose at. At about 4:00 we drove out to Stahmann Farms, a pecan orchard outside the city known for its beautiful fall leaves at the end of the year. We parked a little ways away from the proposal spot, got out, and began to walk "trying to find a nice spot for pictures". And then finally we got within sight of the proposal spot, where I had set up with a sign and photos of Mckynze and me. Also, both of our families were waiting to greet us after the proposal. It was so amazing because Mckynze had no idea what was about to happen. But as soon as she saw it, she began crying, and once we arrived at the spot and faced each other, I said a few words, got down on one knee, and popped the question. Mckynze did not even hesitate to say yes making me the happiest guy in the world. Afterward, we had a very special and very nice engagement party with our friends and family. Kynze had the most beautiful smile on her face the whole night and I could tell she felt so special and loved by me and everyone there. I can not wait to marry this girl very soon. -James
