Wholesome Fall Fun

The first 2 weeks of October are peak fall in Vermont so take advantage of fun local activities, some of which are listed below. Apple Picking @ Mad Tom Orchard (East Dorset) Equinox Valley Nursery Pumpkin Patch Fall Foliage Wagon Rides at Hildene Farm Manchester Fall Art & Craft Festive (Hunter Park) Dorset Farmers Market @ HN Williams from 10-2 every Sunday Manchester Farmers Market @ Adams Park from 3-6pm every Thursday

Foliage

Drive the Equinox Skyline or take one of hikes mentioned below: Equinox Pond (Manchester, VT): A 1 hr hike that is wonderful hike for all levels. Take the first left after the Equinox Hotel onto Seminary Ave. After you pass Burr & Burton Academy, take a right on West Union Street and park at the trailhead. The Long Trail (Manchester, VT): The Long Trail is the oldest long distance hiking trail in the U.S.A. It inspired the Appalachian Trail, which continues for 100 miles through southern Vermont. Find the trail nearby off Route 30 on the way to Bromley. There is a parking lot on the left side of Route 30. Lye Brook Falls (Manchester, VT): Enjoy a two-hour hike to Lye Brook Falls through the Green Mountain National Forest in Manchester. The trail follows a former logging railroad up a gradual slope paralleling Lye Brook. The cascading 125-foot Lye Brook Falls is a great reward! Located five minutes from the Wilburton off East Manchester Rd.

Shopping

Enjoy the many shops in downtown Manchester and surrounding areas. Some recommendations: Northshire Bookstore JK Adams (Dorset, VT): hand-crafted wood products for the kitchen and entertaining Earth Sky Time Farm Store

Stratton Mountain & Bromley Mountain

Take a chairlift or gondola to the top and enjoy hiking down the mountains. If you hike up Bromley, you can take the Alpine Slide down for free! Stratton has a charming village with cute shops and lots of dining options.
