Royal Gorge
The Royal Gorge Bridge is the highest suspension bridge in America. There are a variety of activities surrounding this area including a train ride through the canon, white water rafting the Arkansas, the Dinosaur experience, zip lining, and more.
Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve
This beautiful NP is located approximately 2 hours from Westcliffe. One route requires a 4x4 so please take this into account when picking your route and allow yourself enough time with the mountain roads.
Salida
James' favorite town in the world and the location of many a weekend getaway. Salida is a true Colorado mountain town without all the hustle and bustle of the larger resort communities. Grab lunch near the river, hit a couple breweries, and question your decision to live anywhere else. Approximately an hour from the venue.
Arkansas River Canyon
"The Ark" is one of Colorado's most popular waterways. Great fishing, rafting, and recreation spaces abound. Highway 50 runs parallel to the River. You can't miss it.
Bishop's Castle
A hand-made castle in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. It's not Versailles, but if you're hurting for something to do, there are worse ways to kill an afternoon.
