The site of James and Lily's engagement photos is located only a handful of blocks from Harold Washington Library. The Institute holds classics such as American Gothic, Nighthawks, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of LaGrande Jatte, Water Lillies, and The Bedroom!
Visit Lily's Alma Matter and enjoy a coffee on the Quad. UChicago, established in 1891, offers plenty of Neo Gothic architecture and beautiful landscaping. The campus itself is sleepy during the summer months, but the turtles in the botany pond can still be found sunbathing and enjoying the university's status as a botanical garden.
Chicago may have 77 official neighborhoods, but Wicker Park is not one. This neighborhood is full of record shops, book stores, and vintage clothing. Stop in at Eli's Ark ice cream for ice cream cones shaped like monkeys, pandas, pigs, koalas, and more!
The iconic Bean (officially known at Cloud Gate) is walking distance from Harold Washington Library.
the Lincoln Park Zoo is free to all visitors (although parking is often not). This historic zoo is surrounded by beautiful parks and makes for a great activity during the day!
A Chicago summer classic!
