We met through a mutual friend on an adventure to the Brooklyn Brewery in the fall of 2013. James had a faux hipster look from growing his mustache out for the Movember Foundation, a charity he has supported for many years. Despite the initial skepticism from Shirley that the two of them would ever be friends, they fell in love after many fun and unexpected dates in New York, and adventures to different parts of the world (mostly Japan). We had many years apart as James moved from New York, to Hong Kong, to San Francisco and then finally back to Brooklyn. He is usually pretty good at navigating but somehow, kept getting this one wrong. For this next chapter of our life, we are excited to stay (close enough) together in the New York area, with our new-ish family member Landshark. Unfortunately our furry feline friend has to hang tight in our Brooklyn apartment while we get hitched in Shanghai!
