It all began in high school Spanish class, where we first met; two young souls, not knowing yet how intertwined our lives would become. He was the quiet, steady presence across the table, a smile that would light up the day. And though we were just two teenagers, there was a connection that couldn't be ignored. Then, life pulled us in different directions. He left for the Navy, and she stayed behind to finish high school, our worlds growing distant, yet somehow still connected by the thought of one another and a million letters and calls. The years passed, each of us on separate, but together journeys, determined to make long distance work. Even as we went through life (college, challenges, new friendships) the memories from the whirlwinds during breaks and leave lingered in the background. But fate has a way of bringing love back together. After he was restationed, we found ourselves in the same town once again, as if the universe had whispered, "Now it's your time." And so, our paths crossed once more, like the reunion of two old friends. We picked up from where we left off each time we had break or leave. We picked out little nicknames for each other that have stuck ever since. She calls him “(Silly) Goose,” and he calls her “(Silly) Duck” like we were meant to share this little world of ours, full of endearing quirks and an understanding that only deepens with time. Through the years apart, we remained close. Our hearts never truly strayed too far from each other. And now, as we build new memories side by side, we can’t help but feel that all the distance we endured was worth it to get to this beautiful moment. In his eyes, she see the same spark that caught her attention in high school, but with a depth that only time could create. And she can't help but smile every time he call her "Duck," knowing that with him by her side, she is exactly where she's meant to be.
