Question

Do I need a travel visa to visit the Philippines?

Answer

UK, Bulgarian & Australian passport holders are allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa if they intend to stay for thirty (30) days or less for pleasure purposes, provided they have a return or onward travel to another country and their passports are valid at least six (6) months beyond the intended stay in the Philippines.

Question

What will the weather be like in El Nido in February?

Answer

El Nido has a tropical climate and is distinguished by two seasons: dry, from December to May, and wet, from June to November. The average surface temperature ranges from a low of 22 °C to a high of 33 °C in February.

Question

Which hotel should I stay in?

Answer

El Nido has a choice of hundreds of different accommodation options ranging from $5 a night hostels to $1000 a night Island resorts. As El Nido is so small, where no other place is any further than a 15 minute ride away, we've chosen to let guests choose their own accommodation that suits their personal needs and budget, rather than us recommend somewhere that some guest may not find suitable. Of course if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask us before you book.

Question

What sort of medical facilities are there in El Nido?

Answer

There is no hospital in the city of El Nido, but there is a local medical center where a doctor and a team of nurses can treat mild health issues. If you require further medical attention, you will be directed either to the Taytay District Hospital, about 50 kilometers away, or to Puerto Princesa, or even Manila for the most serious cases.

Question

Do I need any vaccinations before i travel to the Philippines?

Answer

No vaccinations are required to enter the Philippines, but you should be up to date on routine vaccinations (MMR, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine). Vaccinations against Typhoid and Japanese encephalitis are also recommended for longer stays, especially if you plan to travel to rural areas or to spend a lot of time outdoors, as well as if you are an adventurous eater. You should also protect yourself against mosquito-borne diseases (dengue and malaria) as much as possible by using suitable repellent products, and even taking preventive treatment.

Question

Do I require any additional driving documentation to rent a car/motorbike in the Philippines? (UK)

Answer

An International Driving Permit is a permit that allows you to drive in countries where a UK licence alone is not sufficient. The Philippines is one of these countries. Go to your nearest Post Office branch that offers the IDP service. Take along your full valid UK photo-card driving licence, a passport standard photograph , and your valid passport as proof of identification if presenting an older paper version licence. The license fee is £5.50 and is valid for 12 months. https://www.postoffice.co.uk/international-driving-permit
