On Leap Day of Leap Year 2020, Kelsey and her sister, Emily, decided they wanted to leave the pregame and head out to the bar earlier than usual. Kelsey’s friend, Nik, joined them and they headed to Wheelhouse. James was already at Wheelhouse, hanging out at the front bar with his friends, including Marco. Immediately upon Kelsey walking in, James noticed she was with Nik, who happened to be a mutual friend. He wasted no time and asked Nik if Kelsey was single and he said “yes”. From Kelsey’s POV James seemed uninterested when she tried to make conversation by asking “Have I seen you on Hinge?”. But somehow later that night, after a little bit of dancing, James left with Kelsey’s phone number. They had their first date night on March 10th of 2020 and by May 10th they were officially dating. During the lockdown, which occurred almost two weeks after meeting, they spent nearly every day, all day, together. There was lots of time spent in the park, walking, talking, and getting to know one another. What felt like years of dating was compressed into two months during the pandemic and it wasn’t long before they knew they were with their forever person.
