…in the year 2023, Kaitlyn was at Pilot Instructor Training and receives a text from Morgan Roberts, her college roommate and United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and Armed Forces soccer teammate, saying “I literally found your husband. Idk how y'all will ever meet but I found him.” James had graduated from the USAFA and was on a one year assignment teaching flying fundamentals at the USAFA Airfield. He also graciously led kiddos in the elementary aged ministry at New Life Friday Night. Morgan & her husband Karson Roberts (both in the bridal party) also volunteered at New Life Friday night. And here is where their worlds collided. Kaitlyn flew out to Colorado for Armed Forces tryouts and arrived early to spend time with Morgan and Karson. Morgan was on another mission — a mission to set Kaitlyn & James up where they would conveniently meet at Sunday morning New Life Church and get coffee together afterwards. Fast forward three months and James was moving from Colorado Springs to Columbus, Mississippi for Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT). Along his journey he stopped to get dinner with Kaitlyn in Enid, Oklahoma, where she is an Air Force UPT instructor. What was the dinner you may wonder? Tacos, of course! Shortly after, James settled into Columbus Air Force Base and they planned a weekend camping trip to Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas for their first adventure. What a better first adventure than being outdoors in God’s creation. Their monthly adventures in chronological order have included Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas x2, California, Alabama, Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Illinois, Colorado (where they got engaged), Michigan, Mississippi, Alabama, California and the endless adventures to come. We are looking forward to the years ahead with fun filled adventures across the globe wherever the Air Force may take us. Thank you for being part of our story thus far and attending our special day.
