Chapel Dulcinea sits daringly on the edge of an ancient walking trail, on the Wizard Academy Campus approximately 20 minutes southwest of downtown Austin. Yes, it’s an outdoor chapel and the weather isn’t always perfect. But life is like that isn’t it?Anything can happen. Walk into your marriage with open eyes, ready for whatever might come your way, even on your wedding day. Chapel Dulcinea is our symbol of long-term commitment. We dedicate it to couples who want their wedding day to be an intimate celebration (not a spectacle) because weddings shouldn't have to cost a lot of money. Chapel Dulcinea is the #8 spot in the nation for weddings and #1 in Texas.
We are only given 90 minutes. Chapel Dulcinea has weddings every 2 hours, so we get 90 minutes, the staff takes 30 minutes to make sure everything is clean for the next wedding. So please, BE ON TIME. BE EARLY. ANYTHING BUT LATE. 1:30 PM is the start of the wedding.
Yourself. Other than that, Chappel Dulcinea is around 200 yards from the parking lot down a walkway with a cliff overlooking the surrounding area, so feel free to wear comfortable shoes. The venue will be given to us clean for 1 and a half hours, and it is expected to be returned clean. THERE ARE NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE CHAPEL. If you are looking to enjoy watching the moment, Chapel Dulcinea recommends using bubbles. They do fine couples for anyone throwing bird seeds or rice. They do allow flowers to be throne, but it does have to be cleaned up, so if you want to use bubbles, let's just stick with those.
We do realize that it is going to be outside in a pretty warm area, so we just want you to use your best judgement and enjoy watching the ceremony.
After we are wed, it is a tradition that once each couple officially becomes husband and wife that they ring the bell in the very front of the chapel to signify another couple just became Mr. and Mrs.
Depending on exactly how long the service takes, we will have a brief toast in the nearby Spence Diamond Pavillion. Remember, we have the Chapel, Pavillion and Brides and Grooms areas for only 90 minutes. After that we will have the after event at the legendary Salt Lick, less than 10 minutes from the chapel. Brisket, sausage and pork ribs are the main thing Salt Lick is known for, all of which is cooked in an open pit over pecan shells. It's pretty good if I do say so myself. So once the ceremony is over, we will take a short pause for everyone to change what they are wearing if they want and then get ready for good BBQ.
