Cedric doesn't remember how we met, but I remember it like it was yesterday. Our first go around was the summer of 2001. We met in Walmart, he gave me his pager number and told me to call him sometimes. I never paged him because he gave me his pager number and cell phones were pretty popular at the time. I met him a couple of months later at a local gas station and he gave me his number that time. lol.. I called him and we became friends more than anything at that time. We had no clue that the bond that we formed at that time would turn into us spending a lifetime together. Fast forward to 2005 I decided to move to Alabama, we were still good friends at this time but a relationship wasn't ideal for neither one of us at that time. We both go on with our lives up until 2011. Faceboook reconnected us in 2011 and by 2012 we were an item. Our first official date was at the zoo in Birmingham. We were accompanied buy our children, and the story of our beautiful family began. We built a strong foundation from the start this time and the rest was history.

It was a very busy weekend for the both of us. I had planned a gathering for all of the family to get together for Cedric's Birthday in Tunica, MS. I had no earthly idea that Cedric was planning this amazing proposal. On the day of his birthday family members that I had no clue were coming started arriving at the Casino. Later that evening everyone get's dressed and we head for dinner. Right before we were seated I remember my mom walking up last minute. He arranged to sneak her to MS and I had no clue, at this point I'm still very clueless. During dinner the I'm pretty sure the waitress was convinced that Cedric and I were crazy! I was secretly having his cake sent out after dinner, and he was looking for an employee that could sing. After finishing up with dinner, they bring out his cake and we sing happy birthday to him. While I'm busy posting us singing to him on social media, he begins to give a thank you speech, but not before the waitress starts to sing. Another employee grabs him and kind of gives him a look like not yet. When Cedric starts to give his speech my attention is on getting my birthday post for him on social media. Cedric finishes his speech and the guy starts sing. At this very moment everyone at the table had their cell phones out recording. It didn't hit until the guy song the final lyrics with everyone at the table "let's get married"! It was that very moment that it hit me that he was proposing. This was one of the BEST moments in our life, and I knew from that point on things would never be the same. It's like God opened up an entire different level of love that I didn't know that I had for this man. I truly beleive that I passed out as I hugged him when he asked me on one knee " Baby will you marry me?'' The yes that I gave him came from my soul and my body immedietly went into shock. The engagement hit me a few days later as I called him on the phone crying like a baby from happiness. His response "It finally hit you didn't it?''

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
