The currency of Mexico is the Mexican Peso, abbreviated as MXN and represented with the symbol $. To differentiate it from other currencies that use the dollar sign, it's sometimes written as MX$. The exchange rate is approximately 1 USD = 20.52 MXN. Most, but not all places, take credit card, so it's a good option to carry some cash. You can exchange currency at the airport when you arrive or use ATMs located throughout Oaxaca.
In October, Oaxaca experiences warm and pleasant weather, marking the transition from the rainy season to the dry season. Average daytime temperatures typically reach around 80°F (27°C), while nighttime temperatures can drop to approximately 56°F (13°C).
Citizens from certain countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe, can enter Mexico without a visa for stays of up to 180 days. Those traveling with a Venezuelan passport must apply for a visa. Additionally, travelers holding a valid visa for the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, or Europe may also enter Mexico without a Mexican visa, regardless of their nationality. Please contact the Mexican embassy in your respective country for detailed information on the necessary requirements. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and always carry necessary travel documents to facilitate a smooth entry into Mexico.
