The Dunnavent & Hoover family request the honor of your presence of the marriage of their children

While waiting for class at Tarleton State University, a classmate wanted to start to groupchat but was too scared to approach someone. Darby went up to the "scary" person and poked them till their attention was caught. James finally looked up and saw Darby poking his arm continuously, so he took his earbud out to ask what she wanted. While they both talked to one another, they both started to think that they were kinda cute. As class had started, Darby kept looking back to see if James was still there, and it made James wonder what she wanted. After class ended, James asked Darby if they wanted to go to lunch, and she happily agreed. They talked for two hours, getting to know one another. James, though, got up randomly and told Darby he had to go and left Darby sitting in the dining hall, wondering what had happened. Later that night, as Darby and her friend Matthew were doing homework, James contacted Darby asking her on a date that night. Darby was not paying close attention to who had texted her and blew him off. James then asked if Darby was sure, and Matthew had looked down at her phone, asking why a guy named James was blowing up her phone. Darby then said, "Does that really say James?" Matthew said, "Yeah he is asking you out?" Darby panics and has to backtrack and tell James she will meet up with him in an hour. Even though James was confused, he went to meet Darby in the student center waiting. Darby collected her thoughts and asked Matthew to go with her in case it was some weirdo that she did not want to be with; she could use him as an excuse, but if it was James, he could leave her alone. Well, Darby did not think this plan through. James thought Darby had brought her boyfriend! The date started rough, and Matthew refused to leave even though Darby told him to go. James ignored Darby at dinner and talked to Matthew instead. After dinner, Darby said she was sorry for bringing Matthew; she just wanted to make sure that James was not a weirdo. Darby asked if James wanted to grab ice cream as an "I am sorry for bringing Matthew with me." James agreed, and so they got up to head to James' truck, well, Matthew decided to continue the date with them for who knows why. The rest of the date consisted of trying to get to know one another more and also getting rid of Matthew (Who never got the hint). Eventually, they both ditched Matthew as they walked back to Darby's dorm to drop her off. They reach her room to say goodnight, and Darby panics and apologizes a bunch and asks if there could be another date in the future, and if James liked her. James laughed and said, "I think there can be another date as long as Matthew does not tag along this time.' They both laugh and stop at her door. Darby heads inside and invites James in to meet her roommate. They converse a bit more and talk for a few more hours. Eventually, Darby becomes impatient and asks James if he is going to kiss her. James was shocked but kissed Darby. Days go by, and they meet up for lunch in between classes. Darby had gone home for the weekend, and they Facetimed for the three days she was gone. When Darby returns to Tarleton's campus, she stops by James's dorm. When she gets there, James rips open Darby's car door and asks her to be his girlfriend. The rest has been history.
