How we met

April 22nd 2016

In 2016, Chelsea traveled to Melbourne Australia, where she met James at the Rites of Passage Tattoo Convention and sparks flew! James was a few booths down from the Dr.Pickles tattoo team. Who would have thought Pickles could bring us together? We decided to go out for dinner the second night of the convention, which led to a really good time getting to know each other. Chelsea talked about her life in Korea while we ate delicous Korean food. James showed Chelsea around Federation Square where we shared our first kiss. It was a night we would remember forever. Chelsea changed her ticket to stay a week longer and we were soon traveling back and forth between South Korea and Australia and everywhere in between so we could be together. Two years later and still the very best of friends, they have decided to embark on life's path hand in hand.

Travel Story

making memories

Long distance was difficult but we made it work! James got to travel to Korea twice, as well as Chelsea traveling to Australia. It was a very expensive way to date, but we trusted our hearts and took a big chance. In April 2017 Chelsea and James started a travel journey around the USA, sponsored by a live streaming app called Busker. We got to travel the East Coast and met with friends and family! James got to live his dream and see all the art galleries while Chelsea vlogged and broadcasted their travels to the world. James and Chelsea hit the West Coast and Zion National Park next. We rented an Airbnb glamping tent on a ranch overlooking the mountains. We rode horses with a real cowboy through the canyons! Amazing! After introducing James to the Votels in San Diego, we jumped on a plane to Canada where James worked tattooing for one month. We traveled and saw the beauty of Canada. Our next travel adventure was to Japan, Korea and Thailand.

Honeymoon

The BIG event

The traditional way is to have a wedding first and then a honeymoon, but we are doing things a little different. Before our wedding, we will be stopping in Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago. This is an ancient pilgrimage journey that spans over five hundred miles from France to the coast of Spain. We will spend about five weeks walking through different terrains and climates and experience several cultures and languages. We were inspired by James’ mom, Margaret Caffyn, who has walked the Camino twice! Chelsea will be broadcasting a lot of the trip so you will get the chance to come too.

The Wedding

Then comes marriage

Because we are faced with an inconvenient ocean in between our families, we will be doing a very small gathering in Portland, Oregon and another one in Queensland, Australia. We aren’t planning a typical ceremony in either location. We are planning something more “our speed" to celebrate our love, union and happiness with our friends and family that can join us. All details for both locations are on the website.
