(Told by Aziza 😊) We met in 1997 when I transferred to Our Lady of Peace School in the 2nd grade :) We became good friends throughout our elementary school days - competing to see who could finish the newest Harry Potter the fastest, taekwondo classes, math speed tests, etc. James was also my 8th grade crush. ʕ*ﾉᴥﾉʔ After graduating from OLP, we attended separate high schools but still kept in touch now and then through the Confirmation program and OLP school activities for our younger siblings. In 2009, shortly after James' younger brother and my younger sister graduated from OLP: James messaged me on AOL Instant Messenger saying "hi, how are you" and we reconnected as friends :) . During the summer; a week before I moved away to Irvine for college, James insisted on treating me to ice cream at Cold Stone 🍨. Despite all of my excuses - he persisted, and it was our first unofficial date. After that, our friendship started to grow into something more. ♡´･ᴗ･`♡ We have been happily dating since October 4th, 2009 :) after he asked me to be his girlfriend during the OLP Fiesta 🎡. James and I have reached many milestones throughout our relationship: graduating college, James finished nursing school, James earned his nursing license, and my graduate school programs (I completed my MHA and I'm now completing my MBA), etc. We are both so excited to start this new chapter of our lives and to share our special day with everyone :) With Love, Aziza and James 👰🏻🤵🏻

James proposed on June 21st, 2019, and actually managed to shock Aziza! 👦🏻~💍 (/❛o❛\) The ruse: James told Aziza that they would meet friends for dinner at Katsuya in Glendale and then go watch Toy Story 4. The truth: James had secretly invited our families and friends to be there at the restaurant when he proposed 😮. The plan was running behind schedule, and James stalled at the mall across the street. Eventually Aziza started to get hangry 😂 Finally got to the restaurant and Aziza started thinking "there's so many empty tables over here why aren't they sitting over here, where are we going?" But James' friend Rommel was acting super normal, so she dismissed her questions. 😜 Reached upstairs and Aziza stopped in her tracks as soon as she saw the letters "M-A-R-R" (yes, she didn't even reach the Y) and asked "what is that?" when she realized what might be happening. James: laughed and said "what is what?" Aziza: no SERIOUSLY. what is that? *while pointing at the balloons* James turned around and got down on his knee and proposed & yes there were happy tears 😆.
