We cannot recommend Captain Erick enough. We did a cruise around Mason's Island last year and had such a nice time. He does day cruises and sunset cruises that are both BYOB. Only thing to keep in mind is that if Captain Erick says the water might be choppy in a certain direction, if you get seasick easily, we would go off of what he recommends for the smoothest and most enjoyable ride. He is very knowledgeable about the history of coastline Connecticut and fun to be around.
If you like penguins and turtles, this is the place for you.
This is the spot to go to if you want to paddleboard, kayak, or bike around Mystic.
This place is awesome if you're looking for a cool shopping experience outside Mystic. They've got a bunch of unique shops and a tasty brewery for anyone that likes to have the best of both worlds. Seriously, go here. You won't regret it.
You want ice cream? They've got ice cream. If you don't like to eat ice cream and looking out at the water standing on a drawbridge you shouldn't even bother coming to the wedding. Just kidding, Ashley made me say that :)
Do you like the movie Mystic Pizza with Julia Roberts? So do we! Can't speak on the quality or taste of the pizza but if it's good enough for Julia Roberts its good enough for us! Also, Julia Roberts has not responded to our invite yet.
Do you like being wined and dined? Have you consumed too much seafood? Then this Italian bistro is the spot for you! They have wine. They have garlic bread. They have pasta. Most importantly, they have tiramisu. Run, don't walk. When you're leaving, they're going to have to roll you out the door.
You might recognize Ford's Lobster from the critically acclaimed movie, Mystic Pizza. Limited seating but worth a short wait in the afternoon if you want some tasty seafood. This is the place to go for a lobster roll. Jimmy got a dozen oysters on the half shell, a Lobster Bomb with Lobster Bisque on the side and it was all he could dream it would be. He didn't eat breakfast that day on purpose. Ashley on the other hand had to stay 6 feet away not because of COVID but to avoid anaphylactic shock.
We have not personally been here but this place was highly recommended if the wait at Ford's is too long. Fortunately, this spot is right down the road from Ford's so honestly pick whichever place you want. You can't go wrong.
The line appears longer than the wait, and the wait is worth it. If you want a fantastic diner style breakfast/lunch/brunch, this is the place for you! They have a ton of seafood breakfast options as well as tasty specials. They are known for their countless styles of eggs benedict. Jimmy got the Lobster Eggs Benedict; he inhaled it. Ashley got Nutella pancakes.
