Our Story

Full Circle

We first met at a mutual friend’s wedding — which feels fitting, considering where we are now. We talked a little that night and exchanged Instagram handles .What started as sending memes back and forth quickly turned into something more when he asked me out. His first suggestion? Coffee. My response? “I don’t like coffee.” Without hesitation, he suggested smoothies instead and I said yes. Before we even had our first official date, he asked me to be his date to another wedding — his friend’s sister’s wedding(bold move). I agreed, with one condition: we needed to go on a real date first. Just in case this went somewhere, I didn’t want our first date to be at a wedding. So the night before, we went to Tropical Smoothie. I spent half the time secretly texting my best friend about how awesome he was, and realizing I might actually like him a lot. We talked so long that they closed and we stood outside by our cars and kept the conversation going. The next day we survived wedding #2, exchanged numbers, and basically never stopped texting after that. We hung out constantly, made it official a few months later, and from then on we’ve been pretty much inseparable. And now, almost four years later, we’re getting married — proof that sometimes the best love stories really do begin at a wedding.

The Proposal

6/28/2025

The day he proposed started out simple — we went to the Trenton Street Fair because I wanted to walk around and shop. Totally normal… except he was acting anything but normal. He kept checking the time, texting nonstop, and generally behaving like a man with secrets. Little did I know, he was plotting with my best friend. After we finished shopping, we headed home because he said he was taking me out to dinner. I was suspicious so naturally, I texted my best friend. She told me I had nothing to worry about — it was hot out and he wouldn’t want sweat marks in the pictures. We went to dinner at Wize Guys Bistro, which just so happens to be right down the street from Huroc Park (this becomes important). Even at dinner, he was still on his phone, which he never does. When my best friend suddenly stopped answering my messages, my internal alarm bells were ringing. After dinner he suggested we walk through the park. At this point I was confused, suspicious, and trying not to overthink it. A few minutes in, we reached the bench where we had our first kiss. I saw photos laid out and thought it was someone else’s cute setup — until I realized they were pictures of us. He turned to me, told me he loved me, it all clicked. I completely blacked out after that. The next thing I remember? A ring on my finger and my best friend popping out with her camera.
