It's winter, so it will be cold. Cocktail hour and reception are indoors, so the weather should not be an issue. Bring an umbrella just in case :)
Fota Island Resort is approximately 5 miles from the town of Cobh and about 10 miles from the city of Cork. While it is reasonably easy to get local transportation, if you intend to do some sightseeing, it would be helpful to have a car to get around.
You can fly direct from San Francisco into Dublin with Aerlingus and you can get a bus from the airport directly to Cork. You can also take the train from Dublin to Cork or you can rent a car. You can also fly from San Francisco to Cork via London with multiple airlines. The sooner you book, the better chance you have of getting the best deal.
