An elegant structure, a glamorous atmosphere, gorgeous architecture and historical value, Built in 1857, in Downtown Lancaster Pennsylvania, Excelsior is a historical site with a twist! Between the chipped walls and weathered stone, this venue gives off a rustic yet classical vibe. This used to be the site of the Sprenger Brewery complex, a vital business in the development and prosperity of Lancaster county. Large stone vaults in the basement 'catacombs' (the location of our cocktail hour) were used to cool and store the beer. The Excelsior Hall (the location of our main reception), designed by by the brewery owner John Abraham Sprenger himself, was said to be used as a saloon and "meeting hall for societies."
We met in November of 2015 at Penn State, when we were selected as Homecoming directors together. We cannot de-cheesify the location setting... as we met on the steps of Old Main. After becoming homecoming directors, we started to notice that we were in the same classes together... both being cybersecurity majors. Jim noticed that Adrienne would skip classes on Friday and thought it would be a good opportunity to send her his notes, as a way to start to getting close with her (can you tell who is writing this description :) ? ). Study partners turned into best friends and then more, as we started dating in February of 2016. The relationship continued flourish as Adrienne moved down to the Philadelphia suburbs for her post-graduate job. Our love for each other and for the area continued to grow, and we have just purchased our first home in Springfield and adopted our new puppy, Trace!
