Savanah & James's story began as close friends, being that their families had always been close. They spent birthday parties and family events together. But the major turning point started in July of 2016 with a Hunger Games pin. Savanah had always had a loving interest in The Hunger Games. James was aware of this and gave her the pin that she coincidentally didn’t own. They exchanged numbers and started to talk more seriously. James soon asked Savanah out, and their first date was to the new movie, Pete’s Dragon. James cousin Megan and I(Savanah's sister) had encouraged them to date for a while, so we joined them on their second date to Outback. Although James and Savanah lived two hours apart, James still would visit as often as possible, which helped build their connection further. As they began to get more serious, they realized how much they both loved Disney. So, in May of 2017, they bought annual passes and took their first Disney trip together. From here, they continued to renew their annual passes, which meant they enjoyed many trips to Disney together. They also got to spend lots of time with each other’s families, regardless of the two-hour distance. Savanah then got to take her first big road trip out of Florida with James and his family to West Virginia, DC, Ohio, and North and South Carolina in 2019.

At this point, we get to the part where their relationship could've been hindered. Savanah applied to her dream job at Disney and got hired!! While this may be exciting, this would push their distance apart even further to around 4 and a half hours! James knew that this was Savanah’s dream and encouraged her to pursue it and promised that they could make the distance work no matter what. Starting December of 2019, James helped Savanah settle into her new apartment in Orlando. He was unable to live there as his job was in South Florida, but he would still visit nearly every weekend. Savanah had her new kitten, Kenny, along with her childhood dog, Lucky, that kept her company in Orlando. Savanah fell in love with being a Disney Cast Member, and it was where she truly found her passion. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit, and Savanah got laid off from her job at Disney in April. There was still a possibility that she may get rehired, so she remained in Orlando with her fur babies until September. However, they soon realized that her dream at Disney would likely not work out. Fortunately, though, this meant that Savanah could relocate to South Florida with James, and they could officially get an apartment together. Now, finally living together, James became a loving cat and dog dad to Kenny and Lucky. Soon after, Savanah got a new job in the same city as James, as a police dispatcher. Their schedules did not initially align as they hoped but living together was better than they could've imagined. After nearly five years, it felt like they could finally start their life together.

Although James had already decided he wanted to be with Savanah for the rest of his life, he knew it was time to propose. With Savanah’s love of Disney in mind, he knew a Disney ring would be perfect for her. I luckily was a part of choosing out the ring, and after much consideration, James and I knew that Savanah would love the Cinderella Carriage ring. Of course, the perfect place for James to get down on one knee was in front of the Disney castle. It was a complete dream proposal for Savanah! This is just the beginning of their story, as they have a lifetime left for their happily ever after!
