James was determined to make this a surprise for Laurel, and he exceeded with flying colors! It was Easter Sunday and our families had planned to celebrate Easter together for the first time. Laurel had no idea that everyone else was planning something bigger! James's very sweet mother always gives her kids Easter baskets and this year she had a very special one for her future daughter-in-law. James had placed the ring in a ceramic holder in the front of the basket and waited for Laurel to notice. As soon as Laurel realized what was going on James was down on one knee and popped the question! Laurel said "YES!" and cried happy tears.
