How We Met

05/06/2011

James & Lily met at Freight House District in Reno in May of 2011 through mutual friends. They both felt an immediate spark. Admittedly, it may have been love at first sight. Lily thought James was gorgeous and asked him for a dance, which led to dancing the night away. He proceeded to proudly introduce her to about 25 of his friends that night, and even a couple of his friends' moms who happen to be there that night. As the night started to wrap up, he asked for her number & she accidentally entered just 4 digits in his phone (no, really). He was hoping this was a mistake, so he tracked her down on Facebook the next day since he couldn't get her off his mind. She happily responded seconds later and they were able to pick up where they left off. Ironically enough - James had drunkenly proposed to her later that week using his flip phone as a ring box. Maybe it was his intuition. She, of course, said yes... and the rest was history.

First Date

05/15/2011

James took Lily to Sushi Pier 2 in Reno. The 2 bonded over unlimited sushi, sake, and their love of football. They talked about what they wanted to accomplish in their lives, what goals they have made, and if they had ever crossed paths before since they both grew up in Reno and went to rival high schools. They proceeded to head to Freight House District that night, where they spent that entire summer attending Reno Aces baseball games & dancing the summer nights away after.

The Proposal

09/30/2018

James and Lily took off on their first European adventure in the Fall of 2018. Lily had only been dreaming of going to Paris since she was a little girl. Little did she know that James had bigger plans in mind when they set off for an evening stroll to see the Eiffel Tower twinkle at night for the first time. He took her to a secluded corner in a park, and he told her that he wanted to get a picture of them and the tower. He then propped his phone up on a bench and told her to get ready for a picture. The phone was actually recording a video. After they took the "picture," he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She, of course, said "Yes!" and the tower proceeded to twinkle seconds later. They like to think it was congratulating them. It will forever hold a magical spark in their hearts every time they see it twinkle.
