In 2017, Jameela and Tony both joined the team as personal trainers at Fitness Formula Club in Lincoln Park, Chicago. They had very limited interaction and barely even noticed each other as coworkers. Some months after meeting, one of Tony's snarky comments didn't land well with Jameela and she wrote him off that day (as he did her). Several months went by with minimal interaction until one day, something changed. No one knows what actually changed, not even the narrator, but something did. Perhaps it was Jameela confronting Tony after she overheard another one of his snarky jokes and he not answering her query but rather walking away as he chuckled. They slowly started talking - a short conversation here, a training tip there, and then even tried a workout together. Fondness grew and time spent together working out became longer and longer. Fridays turned into two plus hour leg days where only 60% of the time was spent working out and the rest spent sitting and talking. Jameela was hesitant to jump into a relationship but Tony knew what he wanted. It was on the cusp of Jameela's 30th birthday that they became exclusive, all because Tony glommed onto her 30th birthday solo beach vacation. To be fair, Jameela never actually told him he COULDN'T come, but she also never invited him. Legend has it that Tony still thinks the vacation was HIS vacation since he planned it all...but that's just legend and the rest is history. Today, Jameela and Tony live in Chicago with their purrfect little fambam of four. Tony didn't know just how much joy would be added to his life when he said YES to cats. Pistachio (almost 4) and Wilma (2) make their Team Hip Dish whole (yes, they have a team name). After leaving the gym world, both Jameela and Tony found their place in the nonprofit world and interestingly enough, in the same space of sports-based youth development. Jameela is the Development Manager for Cubs Charities and Tony is the Director of Talent Operations for Urban Initiatives. With many memories made and adventures already in the books, Jameela and Tony look to their bright future together, in sunshine, in rain and in a whole lot of love.
