We were two happily single people open for conversation at the neighborhood tap on a warm Saturday afternoon in August 2013. For those who know the story well, you can fill in the blanks, but we're doing our best right now to make it romantic. For everyone else, let's just say Justin likes to talk, and Amber entertained it for as long as she could. Anyway, they say searching for love is like searching for yourself, when you find yourself you find love, because they're the same. And that's exactly what happened with us, we were two happy independent people, living in Chicago, who decided to share our happiness with each other.
After years of friends and family asking when Justin was going to propose, he began to question his mastery of "kick the can" during the fall of 2017. Inspired by the "it's better to burn out than to fade away" theory, Justin diverted course by surprising everyone, including Amber, asking for her hand while on Front Street in Lahaina, Maui just after sunset on December 28, 2017. The story is best told in person, so I suggest asking about it next time you see us.
