“WE DO!!”

It seems like it was just yesterday I met my best friend, kids father, life time partner! We met through a mutual friend (PORTER) 10 years ago. I remember telling Porter that he should hook me up with one of his friends since I introduced him to my oldest sister Megan. Not being serious, he actually took me serious! Months went by and I remember I was sitting in class at BROWN MACKIE and I received a text message from Porter stating “Call my homeboy Robert”, with his number attached. I responded and said, “who’s that”. Porter replies, “didn’t you ask me to put you down with someone”. So that simple text made history. We began talking on the phone for hours because Robert wasn’t a fan of texting. I had saw Robert before because he always use to bring Porter to my mom house, but I never really paid him any attention. So I asked my sister how did Robert look. Megan said, “he’s red and he straight girl”. So after texting and majority talking to Robert for about a week, we finally decided to see one another. Robert came over to my mom house and we connected instantly! Our phone conversations continued and we just made it official. Our 1st date was on my 20th Birthday he took me to his favorite spot, Ale House. Crazy thing is, Mr.Robert had no intentions on dating anyone, but I guess I had that “SECRET SPELL” on him. Robert and I have been through sooooo much together and plan to create many more memories together.

The Night of my 29th Masquerade Lingerie Shindig! Not knowing what this night would be filled with, I thought I was having the time of my life with my girls. I remember this night so vividly. One of the games I had to play, required me to pop a balloon every hour. The last balloon stated, “Text Robert something sweet”! I was being stubborn and didn’t want to text him anything because we weren’t talking. But of course I gave in and texted, “I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER”! Not knowing what was going to happen next! The night was coming to an end and I wanted to take a picture with everyone individually. I noticed my now Maid of Honor (little sister Jahkaia) was missing. I kept asking, “where did she go?” No one seemed to know. Then my best friend Rodneisha, called out to me and said she had something to tell me but it was private. All i remember is instantly getting upset because whatever she had to tell me could’ve waited until the night was over. It was all about me that night lol. Selfish of me huh? Well....... I still proceeded to walk out the door into the hallway with her. Soon as I opened my front door to what now is History! There was rose petals that spelled out “WILL YOU MARRY ME”, lit candles and balloons all in the hallway! Robert knew just what would fill my heart! He got on one knee, we locked eyes, he nodded his head, I nodded my head and we are now one. It’s special because no words were exchanged but we both knew what we wanted and that was to spend the rest of our lives together raising our 3 beautiful children while creating soooooo many memories.
