Unfortunately, due to space restrictions, we have to limit the number of children at our reception. If you are looking for a sitter to watch your kids while you attend the wedding, we recommend the following two companies: Aloha Sitters http://alohasitters.com/ Happy Kids Maui http://www.happykidsmaui.com/ You can also contact your hotel directly to inquire about recommended sitter services.
Yes! There will be a free shuttle to take guests from the 'Alohilani Resort in Waikiki (2490 Kalakaua Ave) to Nutridge Estate. PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE 'ALOHILANI BY 2:45pm TO TAKE THE SHUTTLE TO THE VENUE. If you are late, you may miss getting on the shuttle and will have to find other transportation to the venue. Jamal or Jay should have already been in contact with you to determine whether you are interested in taking the shuttle. Due to limited capacity, only guests who have confirmed with Jamal or Jay will have access to the shuttles. For those not taking the shuttle, we recommend driving and parking at the venue, or using Uber or Lyft to get to Nutridge. After the reception ends at 10pm, the shuttles will transport a pre-determined list of guests to either the after party in downtown or back to the 'Alohilani in Waikiki.
As you all know, we decided to postpone our wedding from May to December 2021. We are sending lots of positive energy into the universe and hope that, by December of 2021, we'll be celebrating our wedding as planned. However, COVID-19 has made these times unpredictable. If we have to make any adjustments to wedding plans, we'll be in communication as soon as possible. Although a major change in wedding plans seems unlikely, we recommend that out-of-town visitors consider purchasing flights that allow for free rescheduling and cancellations. PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR VENUE, AND MANY OTHER PLACES IN HAWAII, ARE REQUIRING PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION TO ENTER.
Yes. According to current COVID-19 restrictions on O'ahu, guests must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter Nutridge Estate, as well as many of our other wedding events. Proof of a negative COVID test is NOT being accepted as an alternative. PLEASE BRING YOUR COVID-19 VACCINATION CARD, OR A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE CARD, AS WELL AS A PHOTO ID, TO THE VENUE AND ALL WEDDING EVENTS.
If your "Save The Date" and invitation say "and Guest," then yes! If not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Aloha attire (e.g., aloha shirts, sundresses, slacks, shorts, nice slippers/sandals), or pretty much anything you feel comfortable wearing! Keep in mind that the ceremony and reception will be outdoors. Weather at this elevated spot in December should be comfortable. The temperature will likely range between the mid 60s up to the low 80s, with a decent chance of passing rain showers.
While Waikiki is a blast, we recommend that first-time visitors also leave Waikiki to visit the more rural, lush, and beautiful countryside of O'ahu, including the north shore and windward (east) side of the island. A rental car is the best way to get out of Waikiki and explore all that O'ahu has to offer. On the other hand, having a car can feel like an inconvenience in Waikiki, where traffic is congested and parking expensive. If you don't want to worry about a rental car while you are staying in Waikiki, we would recommend deciding in advance which days you would like to leave Waikiki to explore other parts of the island, and rent a car on those days. You can rent a car from the airport or various places in Waikiki. We usually go to kayak.com to search for car rentals. Unfortunately, COVID has resulted in more expensive rental car rates than usual. Consider turo.com (it's like the "Air B&B" for rental cars) for more affordable options.
Most of the time (but not all the time - for example, “au” is usually pronounced as one syllable), you should pronounce each vowel as a separate syllable. Moana is pronounced Moe-ah-nah. Kuhio is pronounced Ku-he-oh. Keeaumoku is pronounced Keh-eh-ah-ew-mo-ku. Etc.
