Question

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A SIKH WEDDING?

Answer

Anand Karaj means “ceremony of joy” and takes place in the Gurdwara, a Sikh place of worship. The Sikh marriage is a colourful and unique ceremony in which two individuals are joined in a partnership of two equals. We recommend dressing modestly as you will be asked to be seated on the ground inside the Gurdwara Hall. Men are welcome to wear suits and women (if you're not wearing Indian clothing) are welcome to wear long, maxi dresses or pants. When entering the Hall, you will be asked to remove your shoes and cover your head to show respect. Handkerchiefs and scarves are available, but you are also welcome to bring your own head covering. For all other events, you are welcome to wear Western attire.
