Our story started with crayons and nap time. We met in kindergarten, had a brief middle-school “romance,” and somehow found our way back to each other senior year of high school—right before COVID changed occurred. From there we were inseparable. Our first real “date” was a classy drive to McDonald’s after one of Summer’s volleyball games. Jalen was so nervous until Summer talked enough for the both of them so that eased it a little bit. Since then, we’ve shared years of competitive game nights, football Sundays, dog snuggles, and laughing way too hard at jokes no one else finds funny. The proposal was intimate and filled with so much love and gratefulness. We can’t wait to make it official and celebrate with all the people who’ve been part of our story—whether since kindergarten or just recently. Here’s to a night that feels like our relationship, fun, loving, and intentional.
